About Michigan State Triathlon

Swim, bike, run. That’s a triathlon. But for the MSU Triathlon Team, it’s about much more than that.

Sure, we practice daily (sometimes more than once) and revere the 140.6-mile Ironman triathlon. But we also hang out, laugh, party and study. We’re friends, training buddies and students – but most importantly, we’re a team.

Our club offers meaningful training, useful resources, and that positive motivation. While practice isn’t mandatory, both individuals and the team benefit from commitment.

And we don’t just race triathlons. Every year our members participate in marathons, duathlons, adventure races, road races and multi-day relays. We’ve even been known to play a game of soccer, basketball and water polo from time to time.

Our single biggest race is USA Triathlon Collegiate Nationals held in April. The race draws hundreds of collegiate athletes from around the country, offering a rare opportunity to race against our peers at the highest level. We also race in the Midwest Collegiate Triathlon Conference, where we are equally committed and have dominated the series since its genesis.

Neither talent nor experience is necessary to join the team. In fact, many of our best athletes swam like rocks in their early days. With your dedication and the knowledge and experience of our older athletes, we can help you become a triathlete. We hope you’ll give our club a tri!
