Summer Time Trials

Postby Alan_Finder » Sun May 30, 2010 3:40 pm

Alright, it's about time to get started on these for the summer. These are fun rides to test your fitness as the summer passes. Here are the details:

Who: People who like to ride bikes...fast
What: 10 mile Time Trial
When: Monday nights @ 6:00 pm
Where: Park&Ride on Round Lake Road (just east of US-127)
Why: Because Time Trials are superb
How: Meet at Tri-House (526 Lexington, East Lansing) at 5:30-5:45ish, ride out to the Park&Ride as a group, race as individuals, ride back home as a group.

BEWARE!!!! - It is 11.5 miles out to the Park&Ride from Tri-House. This means that YOU will be riding 33 miles total!!!! Therefore, I will provide a list of things you should not do during this ride:

I repeat, DO NOT:
- ride without water
- ride without a helmet (in fact, without a helmet we will send you home and belittle you as you leave our driveway...you will not ride with us)
- ride without a flat-kit (multi-tool, spare tube, tube inflating device (CO2 cartridge or frame pump), tire levers) because nobody wants to drive out to round lake road to get your stranded butt because you went out unprepared
- get lost
- BE SHY! We like everyone, we just like smart & safe people more than dumb & dangerous people.

I'll see you all on Monday night! 526 Lexington, 5:30pm, ride fast, bye.

Oh, yea...and I have a scheduling conflict tonight, so I will not be attending the time trial. Also, the course is not marked yet, so the official time trial will start next monday. 14 June 2010

Alright, last night's ride was a success. There were eight riders total (Iris, Elie, Nathalie, Leslie, Michelle, Zak, Dave, and yours truly). We had several first time TTers out on the course yesterday. Those in attendence know that the amount of humidity seriously limited any blistering performances. Nevertheless, what I hope to do is keep track of everyone's times for this TT throughout the summer in this forum topic. I will start next week by bringing a piece of paper to take down everyone's times and then post them up here Monday night or Tuesday morning. That being said, if you have a time you would like me to record for the past two weeks rides, go ahead and post it up here or e-mail it to me and I will add it to the master list.

Don't blame the humidity for your inferior biking skills, Finderski.
