Hey Team,
So i'm in this other club called Tower Guard and each member basically does 120 hours of community service throughout their sophomore year. Every year the Tower Guard host a 5k in which all the proceeds go to the organization in which we do our community service through, the Resource Center for Person's with Disabilities. The RCPD is pretty much the only way students with disabilities can continue their schooling, through volunteers and Tower Guard members students with disabilities get help with reading exams and get books formatted to a software so that they can read them. The race is really turning out to look good, we have several sponsors backing and some are going to show up with free stuff, like GNC. There are going to be gift cards for winners of the race, not sure on specifics but if you're fast (or think you're fast) you can profit.
The race is on March 20th, the weekend after spring break. This race is on the same weekend as the IronMAC which is on the 21st, so if you were planning on doing the IronMAC then I would suggest walking the race (Its a Run - Walk - Roll 5k) and then competing in the IronMAC. I would prefer if you volunteer in the IronMAC and run in the Shamrock 5k because we're gonna need the volunteers.
The Race Starts at: 11:00AM on March 20th, 2010
It costs: $20 until registration closes on Wed. March 17 @ 11:59PM - $25 on race day
Where the hell is it? = At Conrad Hall on the east side of campus.
Everything else you could want to know is here: www.msu.edu/~towergrd/ (There is a link to register on this website as well as links to previous results)
So come out and register for a great event, a nice 5k to shoot for a time after spring break training or lack thereof.
Questions beyond what's on the websites? Post up a reply or shoot me an e-mail, mussere1@msu.edu.
