The Heart Throb 5k course takes runners across Michigan State University's campus along the Red Cedar River. The race starts on Farm Lane in front of Bessey Hall, allowing for a wide, clean start. The route then takes a turn onto the river trail, heading west on the south side of the river. Participants will run on paved paths and sidewalks that are well-marked with experienced volunteers at major turns and mile markers.
